To ensure accurate attendance tracking, promote student accountability, and enhance classroom security using NFC-compatible Student ID technology and automated door access.
All students are required to carry their Inferno High School NFC Student ID at all times.
ID cards are used to record attendance and to access classrooms.
Lost or damaged ID cards must be reported to the front office immediately for replacement.
Temporary IDs may be issued in emergency situations.Â
Temporary IDs are loaded with student data and only work for 12 hours.Â
Temporary IDs must be turned in at the end of the school day, or a $15.00 fee is assessed to the student's school account.Â
A. During Passing Periods (5 Minutes)
Classroom doors remain unlocked.
Students are expected to scan their ID at the classroom’s wall-mounted scanner before the bell rings.
Located inside and outside the classroom.
A successful scan during this time will record the student as Present (P).
B. Tardy Window (First 5 Minutes After the Bell)
Doors automatically lock at the bell.
Students may still enter the classroom by scanning their ID at the door.
Scans during this time are logged as Tardy (T).
A yellow indicator and audible tone confirm a tardy scan.
C. After Tardy Window (More Than 5 Minutes Late)
Student IDs will no longer unlock classroom doors.
Students must report to the Front Office.
Office staff will assign Pass Time, which:
Unlocks the classroom door for a limited time (from 1 to 30 minutes).
Is tied to a specific attendance code (e.g., Tardy, Excused Tardy, Office, Extra).
The student must arrive at class and scan in within the allotted Pass Time window.
Failure to do so results in a referral to the administration for follow-up.
Teachers have access to live attendance data via the scanning system.
Manual changes to student attendance are highly discouraged, except in the following cases:
Confirmed scanning malfunctions.
